NEXT & RASK: Festival for Spontaneous Arts.

In autumn 2021, RASK invited 10 artists from Iceland, Norway and Slovakia to participate in a 3-day residency at Mengi in Reykjavik. The artists were musicians, electronic and visual artists who all shared the interest of working with improvisation. The results of the residency were presented at the Festival for Spontaneous Arts; a 1-day festival focused on multidisciplinary improvisation. The entire festival was recorded by Agalma.

The Festival for Spontaneous Arts is a part of NOISS (Norway–Iceland–Slovakia): New Musics for New Audiences.
The NOISS project benefits from a € 192 300 grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norwaz through the EEA Grants. The project has been co-financed from the State Budget of the Slovak Republic in the amount of € 28 845, and by Tónlistarsjóður Rannís for activities in Iceland. The aim of the project is to support audience development, capacity building and transnational mobility promoting the values of creativity, artistic freedom and collaboration in contemporary avantgarde music.
