Iceland Soundscape Trio skipa Drew Krasner, Tim Talavera og Rob Taylor.
Upplýsingar á Bandcamp (https://icelandsoundscapetrio.bandcamp.com/album/iceland-soundscape-trio): In August of 2012, two of my best friends and I purchased spontaneous plane tickets to Iceland with an anti-itinerary written on the inside of our skin that read something like: Do Whatever Feels Right, Right Now. Little did I know that that trip would begin a sustained love affair and unlock a new awareness of mind, heart, and music. After graduating from Berklee College of Music two years later in May of 2014, I returned with even more friends, eager to share the closest thing to magic I have yet experienced with the people I love. Then during the month of June I spent my time at NES Artist Residency in Skagaströnd, a small town in the northwest of the country. It was here that the idea for the Iceland Soundscape Trio was born, and here, where I met dear friend and collaborator on this project, Jérémy Pallier. In spending time together with the other artists taking midnight sun-lit walks and foggy morning hikes, Jérémy and I found that we had a similar artistic leaning towards always aiming to tell a story. So this is our rendering of the magical story of Iceland, the stark beautiful volcanic island perched near the top of our earth. Through the intersection of sound, language, and illustration, we hope bring you temporarily into the Icelandic time and space.
released June 28, 2017
First and foremost, this project is for the welcoming and generous people of Iceland. It is an artistic interpretation of the beauty and love I have experienced during my time there.
To NES Artist Residency, for their wonderful community based program as well as their continued support of this project.
To my French comrade, Jérémy, for basically doing everything the exact way I had envisioned without me having to say much except, “Do whatever feels right, right now.”
To Tim Talavera and Rob Taylor, for being top-shelf musicians and people who care deeply about getting it right.
To the choir, Outrospection, for your dedication, trust, and warm-hearted presence.
To Alan and Lorie Krasner, for your love, your support of my work, and your continual shared search for a better self and whole.
